Pre-Operative Planning

Printer Friendly Preoperative Planning Sheet

Once it is determined that surgery is recommended, you will be asked to sign informed consent. That is a specific form required by the hospital that states the type of surgery you are having done, the reason it is being done, and the risks involved. You should read and understand the information that is stated on the form prior to signing it. It is usually done in the office with the doctor or a nurse. Your surgery will then be booked with the hospital and you will be notified in writing of your surgery date, pre-admission testing date, pre-operative instructions, and post operative appointment.

You will need to call 785-4386 between the hours of 1pm and 3pm the business day prior to surgery for your arrival time at the hospital on the day of surgery.

You will be given information regarding cleansing your bowels the day prior to surgery if it is necessary. (If you are doing bowel prep, please eat a light breakfast and remain on clear liquids for the rest of that day.)

*Do not eat or drink anything after 12 midnight the night before your Surgery. *

You will need someone to take you home when you are released from the Hospital.

If you have any questions, please call our office at (315) 788-2003.
